The baby is turning one at the end of this week! I’m so very excited for his birthday and his party. We’re taking him to go swim in the chi omega fountain at KU on his birthday. His party has a monkey theme. I made the invites and will be busy this week getting paper products and making his cake. I can’t find monkey paper plates locally that aren’t curious george. I found some online, but they want 7 bucks to ship a few paper plates and napkins! Erin over at knitter monkey mentioned that Michael’s carries a monkey party in a box, but I haven’t been able to find it. We may have to settle for brown paper plates with construction paper monkey ears stapled on…
I’m also still working on the blanket for him. I have the body of the blanket finished, and I am working on the edge right now. I still have a ton of ends to weave in as well. And I’m painting a wooden container for him to use as a toy box. I’ll post pictures soon; I promise.
Because I’m going to be working so hard on stuff for his birthday this week, I doubt that I get very much done in my studio. Maybe things’ll o faster than I think they will.
And I heard from Knitty about the pattern I submitted. It was a very nice rejection that complimented the pattern and pointed out exactly what I thought; they’d just published a similar pattern. Amy did say that she hoped to see future submissions from me. So, while I didn’t get this one in, I do have hope for the future.
